Church Church Hittle and Antrim (CCHA Law) is proud to highlight CCHA Law attorney Emily Schmale, and CCHA Law paralegal Hollie Freimanis, who were recently recognized by The Indiana Lawyer with Leadership in Law Awards.
Emily received the Up and Coming Lawyer Award for her dedication, talent, and contributions to the legal profession and Hollie was named a Legal Support Star for her exceptional support and commitment to excellence. Their hard work and dedication truly embody the values of CCHA Law.
At their annual Leadership in Law event, Indiana Lawyer recognized men and women who are leading the way in the legal community throughout the state of Indiana. Indiana Lawyer honors members of the legal community who have shown a commitment to their profession and the clients and communities they serve.
Emily Schmale is a Partner at CCHA Law in the Family Law practice group. She concentrates her practice on family law, which paired with a background in business litigation, equips her to meet client needs ranging from custody arrangements to complex disputed asset division. She also practices in the area of criminal defense and has experience assisting clients with a wide variety of criminal matters, including white collar crimes. She is a member of the Indiana and Indianapolis Bar Associations, and is admitted to practice before Indiana state courts as well as the United States District Courts for the Northern and Southern Districts of Indiana.
“Emily Schmale is an anomaly – an incredible amalgamation of all the “good things” in this industry, including devotion to her clients, her colleagues, and her firm, and a comprehensive understanding of the law and its practical effects on those who she represents. She has developed her practice on the back of a personal code of moral ethics that promotes not only impactful legal advocacy of her clients, but also seeing her clients as complex human beings who deserve to be treated with respect, care, and profound kindness,” shared Katt Boaz, fellow attorney at CCHA Law.
Emily was also named on the Indiana Rising Stars list in 2022. Learn more about Emily and her Up and Coming Lawyer award here.
Hollie has been the lead Litigation Paralegal at Church Church Hittle and Antrim for almost 10 years. She manages a large litigation caseload, including cases in Indiana state courts, United States District Court for the Southern District of Indiana, and the United States District Court for the Northern District of Indiana. Hollie performs a key role in client communications and provides critical support for six attorneys. She has become an expert in ESI and e-Discovery. Hollie is responsible for training new legal assistants and litigation paralegals. Put simply, she is an invaluable asset to the firm and the Litigation Team at CCHA Law would not be what it is today without Hollie Freimanis’ guidance and leadership.
Hollie’s professionalism, work ethic, and never-ending pursuit of perfection have benefited countless attorneys, law clerks, and other staff members. More importantly, she cares about each case and each client. Her passion, proactive style, and high-quality work product consistently lead to good case results for the attorneys and cases she supports.
“Hollie’s reputation for high quality work product and professionalism reverberates across the legal profession. Not only do clients love working with her, but so do all the attorneys she meets. I’ll never forget mediating a case with an attorney who had previously employed Hollie before she moved to CCHA. We both had nothing but glowing things to say about her and her work, and I left feeling even more fortunate for the chance to get to know Hollie both personally and professionally. She is a star in every sense of the word, and I hope you will consider her for this honor” shared Jessica Schnelker, former CCHA Law attorney and current Visiting Assistant Professor of Law at the Indiana University Robert H. McKinney School of Law.
