Julie serves in an advisor role as Of Counsel for CCHA's nationally known Sports Law practice which she also co-founded. She has been involved with sports at the collegiate and professional levels. She joined Pacers Sports and Entertainment in December 2025 as Executive Vice President of External Relations overseeing all corporate communications, community engagement/ impact and implementation of the new mission, vision and values of the organization.

She worked at the NCAA for over 15 years, starting as an intern and ascending to the role of Vice President of Enforcement.

Julie joined the Horizon League, a Division I conference headquartered in Indianapolis, as Deputy Commissioner before taking over as Commissioner in 2021.

Julie was an All-American and Academic All-American women’s basketball player at Millikin University, where she is a trustee emeritus. She earned her Juris Doctorate from the Indiana University McKinney School of Law and was awarded an honorary doctorate from Millikin University.

Julie serves on the Board of Visitors for the Indiana University McKinney School of Law. She also serves on the Board and Executive Committee for the Indiana Sports Commission. Julie served on the WNBA All-Star Board of Directors responsible for hosting the 2025 WNBA All-Star game in Indianapolis. Nationally, Julie completed a term on the Board and Executive Committee of the Women’s Basketball Coaches Association (WBCA) and the NCAA Women’s Basketball Oversight Committee. Julie and her husband, David, a Vice President with Cripe Architects and Engineers, have two daughters, Halle and Harper.
