CCHA is pleased to announce the selection of our own Julie Roe Lach as Commissioner of the Horizon League, effective January 1, 2021. The Horizon League is an NCAA Division I athletics conference headquartered in Indianapolis and comprised of 12 member institutions located throughout the Midwest.
Roe Lach has been with CCHA since January 2016, and is Of Counsel with CCHA’s Sports Law Practice and Managing Principal of CCHA Collegiate. CCHA Collegiate is a CCHA affiliated entity that, along with CCHA’s Sports Law Practice, services clients in various NCAA compliance matters and provides strategic advising and consultative services for institutions and conferences. Julie will continue in her Of Counsel role with CCHA while serving as Commissioner of the Horizon League.
“I couldn’t be more pleased for Julie. She and our sports law team produce unparalleled work and are deeply committed to the institutions, conferences, and coaches they serve,” said Managing Partner David Day.
Roe Lach has been involved with college athletics for 20 years, most recently as Deputy Commissioner for the Horizon League since 2014. Prior to 2014, she spent over 15 years at the NCAA National Office in various roles and working her way to serving as Vice President of Enforcement from 2010 to 2013.
CCHA looks forward to its continued Of Counsel relationship with Julie and the work her team performs for our clients across the country.
