At CCHA Law, we care about the communities where we live and work! Team members in each of our CCHA Law locations are connected to various community initiatives, finding ways to make a difference and provide support. We’re proud to be part of the Noblesville community.
This month in our #CCHACares spotlight, we’re highlighting SERVE Noblesville, an organization that CCHA Law attorneys Sam Hughes and Julia Kozicki support through volunteer work.
SERVE Noblesville was founded as a community-driven initiative in 2008. The organization is a proud non profit pillar in the Noblesville community, connecting local businesses, churches, nonprofits, and neighbors to drive positive change. Today, its approach empowers communities to build relationships, identify local talents, and create a sustainable impact. They promote neighbors helping neighbors for a more connected and stronger community.
SERVE Week is Hamilton County’s largest community service event, held annually each June. This year, SERVE Week took place from June 24 to 28. Volunteers signed up individually or in groups to complete community projects like mulching, gardening, mural painting, painting and more to help beautify neighborhoods in Noblesville.
Each year, our team looks forward to rolling up our sleeves and serving alongside neighbors during SERVE Week. This year, our team helped with meal packing for IDES (International Disaster Emergency Service), spending the afternoon packing meals to provide nourishment for people in impoverished and war-torn countries.
Fifteen members of our team participated, among approximately 30 volunteers present during our designated time slot.
Collectively, we prepared 46 boxes, each containing 48 meals. As each meal serves six individuals, a total of 2,208 meals were assembled, sufficient to nourish 13,248 people!
“For the last decade, Serve Noblesville has brought our community together to support non-profits and individuals who need volunteer assistance,” shared Julia Church Kozicki, attorney at CCHA Law and SERVE volunteer. “CCHA is proud to volunteer and to support the work of Serve Noblesville.”
Back in 2008, a group of youth pastors from Noblesville area churches decided to unite efforts for a greater combined impact of their service efforts. They started by painting fences and sprucing up neighborhoods together. Their efforts grew into an independent nonprofit in 2012, where they made it official, naming the organization SERVE Noblesville and launching a “week of summer service.” With a growing number of volunteers each year, the organization expanded to offer year-round programming, making an even greater impact through united resources and uniting community members.
SERVE’s history reflects how a simple idea of uniting together for small volunteer projects can grow into a full-blown grassroots movement, cementing SERVE as an essential community organization.
SERVE Noblesville operates through multiple pillars of service: events, programs, and neighborhood initiatives. Here are some of SERVE’s staple programs throughout the year:
SERVE’s newest initiative, started in 2024, is Charming Noblesville, which aims to beautify and preserve historic districts through three programs: IMPACT Noblesville, Neighborhood Beautification, and Neighborhood Activation. Recent projects have included tree plantings, murals, and pocket parks in collaboration with neighborhoods such as Old Second Ward and Plum Prairie.
FUN Fest is a cultural celebration showcasing Noblesville’s diversity through food, entertainment, and cultural booths. This family-friendly event is aimed at bringing neighbors together to increase a sense of belonging and connectivity. The motto for this event is that everyone is welcome who welcomes everyone. They encourage applications to host a booth to showcase your heritage and share a piece of your culture with the community.
COMETogether Week encourages community members, neighborhoods, organizations and businesses to throw a party! These intentional parties help connect neighbors in our community that are designed to inspire belonging and respect for each other. These parties fall over Memorial Day Weekend each year.
As part of SERVE Week, SERVE Noblesville coordinates a community give away. The first part of the week, community members are encouraged to donate items for the free Community GIVE Away. At the end of SERVE Week, there is a large Community GiveAway with an organized garage sale where all items are free to the community.
Through these wonderful community programs, SERVE builds pride, equity, and opportunity, neighborhood by neighborhood in Noblesville.
Whether you're a resident or a business owner, there are many ways to help:

SERVE Noblesville has grown from a small youth-led initiative into a powerful, asset-based nonprofit dedicated to connecting people, strengthening the community, and creating change, one event at a time. With summer events in full swing, now is the perfect time to get involved and help make a difference in Noblesville!
