CCHA's Julie Roe Lach Wins Women Leaders in College Sports Award

CCHA is thrilled to share that our own Julie Roe Lach has been named a Nike Executive of the Year by Women Leaders in College Sports (formerly NACWAA).

The Executive of the Year Award, formerly known as the Administrator of the Year Award, is presented to Women Leaders in College Sports members for significant contributions made as a senior-level administrator of intercollegiate athletics across several divisions (NCAA Division I, FBS, FCS, Division II, Division III, NAIA/NJCAA/Community College and Conference/Organization). Roe Lach, who serves as the Commissioner of the Horizon League, was recognized for her administrative excellence in the Conference/Organization division.

Founded in 1979, Women Leaders in College Sports is the only nationally recognized collegiate professional membership organization whose mission is to develop, connect and advance women leaders working in intercollegiate athletics. More than 4,300 members strong, Women Leaders promotes the growth, leadership and success of women as athletics administrators, conference commissioners, professional staff, coaches and student-athletes.

Women Leaders in College Sports is committed to recognizing the achievements and successes of women working in athletics. Celebrating these accomplishments is an integral piece of advancing women in athletics.

All award recipients will be recognized at the Women Leaders National Convention in October, in Kansas City.

Julie Roe Lach joined CCHA in 2014. She is also Managing Partner at CCHA Collegiate, a CCHA affiliated entity that services clients in various NCAA compliance matters and provides strategic advising and consultative services for institutions and conferences. She has been involved in college athletics for over 20 years and is in her third year as Commissioner for the Horizon League, after being named the League's sixth Commissioner on January 1, 2021. She is in her ninth year overall with the Horizon League, joining as Deputy Commissioner in August 2014.
