CCHA Law Supports the Crohn's & Colitis Foundation

CCHA Law is proud to support the Crohn's & Colitis Foundation for the Indiana Take Steps Walk, helping to advance research, education, advocacy, and support services for individuals and families affected by inflammatory bowel disease (IBD).

As the Crohn's & Colitis Foundation's largest nationwide fundraising event, Take Steps brings together patients, caregivers, healthcare professionals, and community supporters to raise awareness and funds for those living with Crohn's disease and ulcerative colitis.

Funds for Good

The Indiana Take Steps Walk, presented by Eli Lilly & WeShare Health, took place at Conner Prairie in Fishers on June 13, and raised more than $178,000 for the Crohn’s & Colitis Foundation, exceeding its fundraising goal for 2026.

Monetary contributions, including those donated by CCHA Law, help support research, patient resources, educational programs, and advocacy efforts. To-date, the Foundation has invested more than $500 million in research and has connected millions of patients and healthcare professionals through its programs.

A Personal Cause

CCHA Law’s involvement with Indiana Take Steps and the Crohn’s and Colitis Foundation began through a personal connection. "I was introduced to the Crohn's & Colitis Foundation through a client who is involved with the organization," explains CCHA Law attorney Steve Lutz. "Through that connection, we learned more about the Foundation's mission and the important work it does to support individuals and families affected by Crohn's disease and ulcerative colitis."

After learning more about the Foundation's impact, the firm recognized an opportunity to support a cause that touches many lives throughout Indiana and beyond. "Crohn's disease and ulcerative colitis affect many individuals and families in our community, including people connected to our clients and the CCHA family," Lutz says. "Supporting the walk was a natural way for us to help further the Foundation's mission and raise awareness for these conditions."

Millions of Reasons to Contribute

According to the Crohn's & Colitis Foundation, inflammatory bowel disease (IBD) affects millions of Americans, including more than an estimated 70,000 Hoosiers. These chronic conditions can create significant physical, emotional, and financial challenges for patients and their loved ones.

For CCHA Law, supporting organizations that strengthen the community aligns with the firm's commitment to service. "The Crohn's & Colitis Foundation provides critical resources for individuals living with inflammatory bowel diseases," Lutz says. "Supporting organizations like the Crohn's & Colitis Foundation helps ensure those impacted have access to the help they need. We are proud to support efforts that improve the health and well-being of our community."

This year marks CCHA Law’s first year supporting the Indiana Take Steps Walk, but it won’t be the last. “We are grateful for the opportunity to partner with an organization making a meaningful difference in the lives of those affected by Crohn's disease and ulcerative colitis,” says Lutz. “Through our donation, we join a larger community effort dedicated to improving patient outcomes, advancing research, and moving closer to a future free from IBD.”
