At CCHA Law, we believe access to parks, trails and outdoor spaces plays an important role in strengthening our communities and enhancing quality of life. That’s why we’re proud to support Hamilton County Parks & Recreation and the work it does throughout Hamilton County.
Hamilton County Parks & Recreation has served the community since 1967 and currently oversees 19 parks, more than 28 miles of pathways and more than 1,800 acres of land throughout Hamilton County. The department provides opportunities for residents and visitors to enjoy the outdoors through parks, trails, recreational activities, programs and events. From hiking, fishing and paddling to nature programming and other outdoor experiences, Hamilton County Parks & Recreation offers a variety of ways for people of all ages to explore and enjoy the community’s natural spaces.
The department also works with individuals, businesses and service organizations interested in volunteering, helping connect groups with projects that fit their interests, skills and schedules.
Recently, CCHA Law attorneys and staff members spent a half day volunteering with Hamilton County Parks & Recreation at Strawtown Koteewi Park in Noblesville.
During the morning, the CCHA team planted more than 70 trees throughout the park, working together to support the continued care and preservation of the property.
Strawtown Koteewi Park is one of Hamilton County’s signature outdoor destinations, offering extensive natural areas, trails and recreational opportunities along the White River. The park gives visitors opportunities to experience woodlands, wetlands and prairie habitats while enjoying activities ranging from hiking and biking to paddling and other outdoor recreation.
The project gave our team an opportunity to step away from the office, spend time together outdoors and contribute in a hands-on way to a park that serves families and visitors throughout Hamilton County.
Hamilton County Parks & Recreation’s commitment to protecting natural spaces, providing recreational opportunities and enhancing quality of life closely aligns with CCHA Law’s own longstanding commitment to supporting the communities where we live and work.
For Rachel Woloshin, the opportunity to volunteer reflected the many different ways CCHA Law supports organizations throughout the community.
“CCHA Law supports more than 80 nonprofit organizations in a variety of ways, so opportunities to give back in a hands-on way are especially meaningful. It was great to spend the morning together as a team while supporting a place that gives people throughout Hamilton County opportunities to connect with nature, enjoy the outdoors and spend time together,” Rachel said.
Through CCHA Cares, we are proud to highlight organizations making a meaningful impact in our communities and support their work in a variety of ways, whether through volunteering, sponsorships, donations or other forms of involvement.
Our time at Strawtown Koteewi Park was one opportunity to put that commitment into action while supporting a resource that benefits the entire Hamilton County community.
