Each month, CCHA is proud to recognize amazing community partners committed to improving the communities in which we live and work. This month, that honor belongs to Janus Developmental Services.

Providing individuals with disabilities the opportunity to participate and contribute within the community, Janus Developmental Services, Inc. opens the door to a world of possibilities in Hamilton and surrounding Indiana counties. Founded in 1979, they are duly recognized as the partner of choice for individuals with disabilities, their families and the community.

Their clients are defined by their abilities and Janus offers opportunities for education, employment training, independent living and information to individuals and their families. Their activities promote the confidence and choice that will result in a sense of achievement.

Known for their commitment to providing career opportunities to clients, Janus has a notable sheltered workshop program, where clients work on-site at Janus’ Ind. 32 facility for companies to earn a wage. Janus also works to pursue employment for its clients in surrounding communities, working one-on-one with individuals to find jobs.

Janus Developmental Services just recently bid farewell to their longstanding President/CEO, Chris Sorenson, who has been an unwavering advocate for the families she served and those throughout the community, as she retires and settles into her next chapter. CCHA, along with many community partners, would like to wish her a long, well deserved retirement.

Yolanda Kincaid, new President/CEO of Janus Developmental Services shared, “our compassionate and talented team works every day to make a difference in the lives of others and to connect the people we support to our community in meaningful ways, and to provide opportunities that create a genuine sense of contribution through our many offerings at Janus Developmental Services.”

Janus Developmental Services looks forward to having additional space at the South Pointe Village apartments located on Lantern Road in Fishers this Fall. Kincaid stated, “we are excited about this new location to serve the Fishers area in a more customized fashion, and we are looking for similar opportunities to partner with others in neighboring Carmel and Westfield.”

If you’re looking to become engaged with Janus, we encourage getting in touch with them and determining the best way to provide your support. CCHA will continue to shine a light on the amazing, life changing work being done by Janus and are immensely appreciative of their commitment to Indiana, individuals with disabilities, and their families.
