About Peter

Peter joined CCHA in 2014 as an of counsel attorney in the firm’s school and education law practice.

Peter counsels attorneys and school administrators in a variety of areas in education law, including school law, school board issues, construction law, finance, student discipline, employment law and negotiation and labor arbitration, and alternative dispute resolution.

Peter’s more than 40-year law career is highlighted by his service as the first attorney hired by the Indiana School Boards Association. While there, he served as a registered lobbyist, and he helped create the School Attorney Workshop and several publications covering important school law issues.

In addition, Peter served on the drafting team that created the Indiana Student Code and Discipline Procedures and the Indiana Teacher Bargaining Law. Peter became only the second attorney to receive the Indiana School Boards Association’s prestigious Lorin Burt Outstanding Educator Award, which is given annually to people who provide significant contributions to Indiana public education or to education in his/her communities.

Peter earned a law degree from Maurer School of Law at Indiana University. He earned a bachelor’s degree in history and political science from the University of Evansville. He is admitted to practice in all Indiana courts.
