Steven M. Lutz joined the firm as a partner in October 2009. Steve's general civil practice areas include: emerging business creation and general business representation, general commercial litigation, real estate litigation, appellate practice, estate planning and administration, and creditor's rights. Mr. Lutz is admitted to practice before the Supreme Court of Indiana, and the United States District Courts for the Northern and Southern Districts of Indiana.
Mr. Lutz was born in Jasper, Indiana, and raised in Hershey, Pennsylvania, graduating from Lower Dauphin High School in 1993. He obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Industrial Management/Industrial Engineering, with a minor in psychology, from Purdue University in 1998. While at Purdue, he served as President of Lambda Chi Alpha fraternity. He graduated from Indiana University School of Law at Indianapolis in 2002 earning his Juris Doctorate, cum laude. While in law school, he served as a Fellow on the Dean's Tutorial Society and was a co-founding member of the Society to Promote Student Legal Services.
Currently, Mr. Lutz serves as a Member of the Board of Directors for several charitable organizations including the Indianapolis Senior Citizens Center and the C. James and Mary Lou Wilson Charitable Trust Foundation. Mr. Lutz has been providing volunteer legal services to members of the Indianapolis Senior Citizens Center for many years regarding their estate planning needs and related matters. He is also a member of the Indianapolis Bar Association, and the Indiana State Bar Association where he is a Member of the Litigation Section and the Probate, Trust and Real Property Section.
Steve lives in Fishers with his wife, Stefani, an accountant at the national headquarters of Hatworld-Lids, in Indianapolis. Steve is an avid golfer and enjoys spending his non-working hours with his wife, their family and friends, and their cocker spaniel, Hershey.
